Privacy Policy — Pipeline Chrome Extension
This Privacy Policy explains how the Pipeline Chrome Extension ("Extension") handles information. The Extension is designed to let you save job posting details from supported job sites into the local Pipeline desktop app.
1. What the Extension does
The Extension reads job-posting content from the currently active tab only when you use the Extension, and sends extracted fields (for example: title, company, location, salary, job description, and page URL) to the Pipeline app running on your computer.
2. Information the Extension processes
- Visible job posting content on supported job-board pages.
- The page URL of the job posting.
- Technical message data needed to communicate with the local app via Chrome Native Messaging.
The Extension does not require account sign-in, and does not collect passwords, payment data, or personal messages for its intended use.
3. How information is used
- To extract and structure job details from the page you selected.
- To save that job entry into your local Pipeline app.
- To prevent duplicate saves and improve extraction reliability.
4. Data sharing and sale
We do not sell your data. We do not share extracted job data with third-party advertisers or data brokers.
Extension data is sent to your local Pipeline app on your own device. If you later choose to use optional AI features inside the app, those requests are governed by the app settings and the provider you select.
5. Remote code and tracking
- The Extension does not execute remote code.
- All extension scripts are packaged with the extension.
- The Extension does not use advertising trackers.
6. Permissions used
activeTab: access the current tab after user action to read job details.host_permissions: run on supported job-board domains.scripting: inject the packaged content script when required.nativeMessaging: send extracted data to the local Pipeline desktop app.
7. Data retention
The Extension itself is not a cloud storage service. Saved job data is stored by the local Pipeline app. You can edit or delete saved entries in the app at any time.
8. Security
We use standard platform mechanisms and local app communication patterns to reduce unnecessary data exposure. No method of storage or transmission is 100% secure, but we aim to minimize collected data and limit processing to what is needed.

We may update this policy from time to time. The updated date at the top of this page shows when this policy was last revised.
